Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) for B-Cell Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma (3/1/2010)
Radioimmunotherapy (RIT) is a promising new approach for the treatment of patients with NHL. Radioimmunotherapy uses a specific monoclonal antibody attached to a radioactive isotope. The antibody specifically delivers the radioactive isotope to the target cell.

Patients with DLBCL Not Receiving G-CSF Are at Risk for Febrile Neutropenia (1/4/2010)
Researchers from Europe involved in the IMPACT NHL study have reported that many patients receiving R-CHOP 21 and R-CHOP-14 for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) are not receiving granulocyte-colony stimulating factory (G-CSF, Neupogen®, Neulasta®) as recommended by ASCO and EORTC guidelines; this is resulting in an increased rate of febrile neutropenia (FN). The details of this study were presented at the 2009 meeting of the American Society of Hematology in New Orleans in early December.

Zevalin® Consolidation Increases Molecular Remission in Patients with Follicular Lymphoma (12/29/2009)
Researchers affiliated with International Randomized Phase III First-line Indolent Trial (FIT) have reported that Zevalin® (90Y-ibritumomab tiuxetan) consolidation results in molecular remissions in over 90% of patients with follicular lymphoma (FL) compared with 36% in the control group. The details of this study appeared in the December 20, 2009 issue of the Journal of Clinical Oncology.

Autologous Transplantation with the Addition of Rituxan® Improves Survival in Patients with Mantle Cell Lymphoma (12/28/2009)
Researchers from Europe have reported that the addition of Rituxan® (rituximab) and autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) independently improves survival in patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). The details of this study were reported at the 2009 meeting of the American Society of Hematology in New Orleans in December.

Tandem Autologous-Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplants Highly Effective for Relapsed Follicular Lymphoma (12/23/2009)
Researchers from Canada have reported that autologous stem cell transplantation (SCT) followed by a sibling reduced-intensity allogeneic SCT results in  progression-free (PFS) and overall survival (OS) of 96% at three and five years in patients with relapsed follicular lymphoma (FL). The details of this study were presented at the 2009 meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) in New Orleans in the first week of December.
